Mekong - River of Nine Dragons

Greetings,

I've just returned from three days in the Mekong Delta. It was marvelous to be on the water, this swirling powerful natural endless flow of time - past, present and future. To realize it's source in Tibet. It runs 4500 kilometers through China, between Myanmar and Laos, through Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Travelers shared their short sweet stories. Icelandic, German, English, and French. The majority were on quick 2-3 week vacations through Southeast Asia. I felt their anxiety and time schedule pressure, some had adjusted in some small measure to the rhythm of the Asian way. Others were suffering from sensory overload and in a hurry to get somewhere else. So it goes.

The Icelandic team of two brothers and their sister left Reykjavik in August and landed in Mumbai where it was 40+. I'm melting!

They stayed with boats and buses, reached Kathmandu, flew to Beijing and overland to Saigon. They left by boat to Cambodia and eventually Thailand. Two will continue to Sydney for New Year's.

I took an Open Tour to My Tho, Ben Tre and Can Tho. It included a home-stay with a family deep in the jungle along a tributary. The tourist sites on small islands in villages included: a coconut candy production operation, honey bee processing, a python wrapped around your neck, fish farms, an alligator farm, a floating market, a rice paper making village, a Cham weaving village and a climb up Sam Mountain offering 360 degree visions of the huge delta and Cambodia to the west. Stunning and sublime.

At the home stay I awoke at 4 to sit by the river with the crescent moon and stars reflected in water.

An extensive Saigon color gallery is up for your visual enjoyment.

Authorized to speak truth

According to me, speaking on the condition of anonymity because I am not authorized to reveal the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth:

1. truth is classified. The source of truth concerning Everything is classified. Ossified.

Yes, I am authorized to say, with complete anonymity that truth is filtered, it is compartmentalized, abstracted, excerpted, sliced, diced, parsed, fossilized and classified. It hides inside a deeply buried locked black box. The key is classified. The key is not on a social network site designed to distract.

The key is, for the Time Being, a woman somewhere in India carrying the world on her back. She's the key.

2. truth is a joke. The source of truth concerning jokes is classified. I am not authorized to reveal the joke. The big joke, the laugh track. Your tears speak streak truth, mangling truth.

3. truth is a myth. The source of the myth is classified. Read it and weep. As Antonio Porchia well said, (he was authorized to speak) - "Truth has very few friends and those few are suicides."

4. truth is the Next BIG Thing. It will modify seeds providing billions of humans with a genetic food source.

5. truth will provide more than 1 billion people with access to safe drinking water.

6. truth will enable literacy for 850,000,000 million people worldwide who cannot read. Woman are 2/3 of this number.

7. truth will employ 2.8 billion people surviving on less than $2 a day. Truth will employ 1.1 billion people existing on less than $1 a day.

8. truth will assist 70% of the people in the "developing" world having no access to electricity in their homes, health clinics and schools.

Truth is a fatal disease, like love. A sledgehammer.

Jump!

How was your weekend?

Wonderful thanks. Played two hours of doubles on Saturday morning and gave some teamwork suggestions to the other players. Attack the net. The team that controls the net wins 85% of the points. Laugh and lob.

Went swimming in the olympic size pool. Cool underwater blue field of liquid.

Rode the Cosmic bike over to see Heni the queen of orchids at the nursery. She has many new flowers.

Enjoyed a 1.5 hour deep tissue massage on Sunday in the Balinese relaxation zone. Jumped in the pool.

Watered the amazing back garden and studied, with profound reverence, a large yellow, red, black and green spider finding a cool drop of liquid on a green leaf. It then scurried back to it's position in the center. Patience.

Water's heartbeat

Well now, such an elegant universe. Bamboo wind. A drop of memory carried by a pure and simple recall, shadowed reality of sand, coral, diffused surface light, edges of black glistening diamond sand, palms and dirt trails.

The water droplet reflected everything it dreamed, imagined and bird songs escaping from a single throated sound. Yes, this water sustained a yellow leaf on it's gently rising energy, feeding the green veins with harmonic flowing surge. Pulsating.

Open palm forest

Greetings,

Fresh air behind you in open palm forest. Aquamarine blue sea. Distant Lombok is-land and Rinjani volcanic dome edges blue sky as white clouds fly north.

Tribal wind music, wandering dirt paths through an Air village. A group of kids build a new fence using live branches from a tree. A boy high above hacks them off, they sail south, grounded. A girl lays out a branch and cuts away unnecessary stems. They hollow out earth bordering other branches along a field green with grass, filled with palms.

A living fence.

Star filled sky light. Pulsating waves.

See colors and hear music. Hear sounds, see colors.
