Yak mouth

Namaste,

Hey Hominid, how's it going?

It's a fucking jungle out there. Predators. Yakking fools.

Idiots with a larynx.

They grunt. They grimace. They fight. They steal. They kill. They kill, question.

Yeah it's eat or be eaten. Law of the jungle.

Short fast and deadly.

Do they breed work and get slaughtered, question.

Yeah ha. Ha ha. Laughter saves the day. Where's the tool fool, question.

Over there. (points toward the jungle) Sex. (rubs body parts)

Ugh. Whoopee. Coitus interrupted.

Show me your tool. Fool.

Shit puke thunder and lightning.

Light my fire.

Erectus said to Neanderthal, Give me your tired homeless cave painters. Your electronic mice.

Let's get the hello out of hear.

Metta.

Dear Lucy Chimp Child

I learnt to write before reading. Letters. Strings of pictures. Read nature.

Word pictures. Yeah. Grunts and ughs and yahoo wows and gestures and sings signs and more gestures.

So it goes. Eat or be eaten. Law of the jungle. How did we evolve? Answer evidence.

Anyway, I walked from Ethiopia to I don't know where. New climate and landscape.

Someone, probably a Homo Stupendous had fire. I saw the light. It was in a shelter. A hole in the ground covered with branches and animal skins. Maybe a cave.

Our tribe wanted to stole it. They made a plan. Brain power. Sneak up.

We asked, using our gesturing language. Limited. Share?

Go away!

They threw sticks and stones at us.

Find your own fire.

It's a struggle.

Bye.

Grunt Loud

Namaste,

A cool reality being a hominid is grunting. Still happening. Huh? Huh?

A kid in Asia - uuuugggghhhhhhhhggggg. (i'm bored)

Pay attention, said Hominid Habilis.

I am the early form. Before.

Erectus.

Later in the saga of human development were gutteral vocalizations. Me BIG. You Small. Me connected to earth, water, air and hammering.

Hammering? What's that, said Habilis.

It's like this, said Hominid picking up a stone. Watch this! Erectus bashed two stones together.

Wow, said Homonid, I'm impressed.

Yeah, get this, said Erectus 2 milion years ago. I plan. I design. I have a small brain. Like now. Grunt.

I created Acheulian tools. You might say, using paleomagnetic dating, my tear-shaped axe was the Swiss Army knife. Then.

So what?

I used it to chop wood. I used it to butcher animals.

You were very advanced. Considering. Then?

I dropped it.

Metta.

hominid

Namaste,

The following conversation is, are was, were conducted by little people. Everywhere.

Hi, I'm a hominid. Really? You're taller than Lucy.

Yeah, I evolved. I learned how to stand up. Yeah, ya gotta stand up. Before you can walk you have to crawl. Yeah. Before you can run you have to walk.

She was a midget. Barely three feet. Didn't last long. Poor thing.

I'm hungry. Have some fruit. Delicious. Seen any wild animals around here? Yeah, grunt grunt. Big teeth. Hungry.

Find a tree. Climb fast. Keep your mouth shut.

It's a jungle out there. Eat or be eaten.

I eat to survive. Oh yeah. I survive to eat.

That's life.

Metta.

Animist

Namaste,

The chunchiet animist people of Ratanakiri in remote northeast Cambodia bury their dead in the jungle. Life is a sacred jungle.

Animists believe in the universal inherent power of nature in the natural world. The Tompoun and Jarai, among many animist tribal people in the world have sacred burial sites.

This is the Kachon village cemetery one hour by boat on the Tonle Srepok river from Voen Sai. The River of Darkness.

It is deep in the jungle along the river. You need a local guide and a translator speaking the local dialect.

The departed stays in the family home for five days before burial. Once a month family members make ritual sacrifices at the site.

The village shaman dreams the departed will go to hell. In their spirit story dream the shaman meets LOTH, Leader of the Hell who asks for an animal sacrifice. The animist belief says sacrificing a buffalo and making statues of the departed will satisfy LOTH.  It will renew the spirit and return it to the family.

After a year family members remove old structures, add two carved effigies, carve wooden elephant tusks, create new decorated roofs and sacrifice a buffalo at the grave during a festive week long celebration with food and rice wine for the entire village.
